FAQs
Feel free to reach out to us if you have a question that is not answered below.
Please note
The venue is in the heart of the countryside, down a few country lanes that can be slightly harder to navigate — especially after dark! If you’re not entirely comfortable driving on rural roads, we’d recommend booking a nearby hotel or using a local taxi. We also suggest checking your route in advance and allowing plenty of extra time for your journey — you never know when you might encounter roadworks… or a particularly slow tractor on the way!
What should I wear?
As this is a summer wedding, we’d love everyone to embrace bright, summery colours. The bride and groom, along with the wedding party, will be wearing Indian outfits throughout the celebrations — but please wear whatever you feel most comfortable in, as long as it’s wedding-appropriate.
-
We kindly ask that you avoid wearing white, red, or black.
-
If you’d like to wear an Indian-style outfit but don’t own one, please get in touch with Anakha, who will be more than happy to help you find something suitable.
Do I need to change outfits for the different ceremonies or the reception?
You’re more than welcome to wear the same outfit all day. There won’t be dedicated changing spaces available — only bathrooms, which may not be comfortable for outfit changes — so we recommend choosing something you’ll be happy in throughout.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive by 11:45am. We’ll be starting with the Jaan arrival (the groom’s entrance) — a big, joyful moment with music and dancing, where everyone is invited to gather just outside the front door of the venue to welcome the groom’s party.
After this, we will enter the venue at 12:00pm for welcome food before the ceremonies begin.
This is not Indian timing, so please do not be late!
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Weather permitting, the civil ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors. The venue has beautiful grounds overlooking three counties, and we very much hope to make the most of them!
If the weather isn’t kind to us, all celebrations will move indoors within the venue’s beautiful marquee spaces.
What happens between the two ceremonies?
There will be a relatively quick turnover between the civil and Hindu ceremonies — under an hour. Guests are expected to stay on site, enjoy some light refreshments and soft drinks, and then move to the Hindu ceremony space.
Every space guests will be moving to will be easy to find, and you’ll be directed by venue staff or members of the wedding party.
Can I bring a plus one?
We kindly ask that you only RSVP and attend with the people listed on your invitation. There will be assigned seating, so this will be strictly enforced. Thank you for understanding.
Are children invited?
While we adore your little ones, this will be a celebration for guests aged 12 and over. Please check the names listed on your invitation to confirm exactly who is invited.
Are the ceremonies unplugged?

Civil Ceremony
-
We kindly ask that no phones or cameras be used to take photos or videos during the Civil Ceremony. We’ll have a professional photographer and videographer capturing the moment, so you can sit back and enjoy it with us.
Hindu Ceremony
-
For the Hindu ceremony, we ask that you please keep your phones away during the bridal entrance, so the atmosphere remains uninterrupted and respectful.
-
After the entrances, you are welcome to take photos and videos during the ceremony itself, as long as you do not block the professional photographer or videographer.
Once the ceremonies are over, please feel free to take as many photos and videos as you’d like for the rest of the day!

Will food and drinks be provided?
Yes — all food and drinks will be provided throughout the day.
-
There will be welcome food at the beginning, light refreshments between the ceremonies, cocktails and canapés after the ceremonies, followed by a full three-course family-style Indian dinner, and finally cake later in the evening during the dancing.
-
There will be both vegetarian + non vegetarian food available. Allergens will be listen on the menus but please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.
-
Soft drinks will be available all day and alcohol served from the cocktail hour onwards
-
Heaton House Farm do not permit your own alcohol being brought onsite.
Can I post on social media?
Absolutely! We’d love for you to share your photos and memories.

We will also be sending a link to a Google Photos Album after the wedding to collect all your photos from the day!
